Specialist in the field of population and environmental genetics. Graduate of the Department of Ichthyology of the Biological Faculty of the Lomonosov Moscow State University. The author of  publications in the field of population genetics, phylogeography and phylogenetics of fish. Studies devoted to the analysis of the mechanisms of form and speciation in whitefish (Coregonidae) showed complex ways of microevolution in this model and resource group of fish, including the role of interspecific hybridization and introgression, sympatric speciation, incongruence of morphological and molecular phylogenetic reconstructions. New priority data on the status and evolutionary relationships of the Baikal omul, Penzhinsky omul, muksun, various forms of whitefish and grouse were obtained.
