Place of employment: Sakhalin Branch of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (SakhNIRO).

Since the beginning of his career, he has studied benthos, its composition, structure, abundance indicators, distribution, features of functioning and the impact of anthropogenic factors on it during the construction and operation of various production facilities and infrastructure, including the oil and gas industry.

He is a recognized specialist in the systematics of higher crustaceans, mainly amphipods. He has numerous works on this topic.

He supervised the work of SakhNIRO on the study of the functioning of river ecosystems. The obtained results were an undoubted scientific achievement and formed the basis of a separate chapter of the textbook "Fundamentals of river hydrology and hydrobiology".

Currently, he oversees the work of the Sakhalin branch of FGBNU "VNIRO" on the receiving capacity of the environment for the purpose of aquaculture of Pacific salmon.
