Pacific Biological Station (Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada)

Member of the International Group on Climate Change, which received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, for the discovery of acid rain in North America and new methods for determining the age of fish. He received the first prize of the North Pacific Commission on Anadromous Fish for his significant contribution to scientific research on Pacific salmon. He was awarded the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia. Member of the Royal Society of Canada. Received the Wooster Prize, awarded by the Organization for Marine Sciences in the North Pacific (PICES) for career achievements in fisheries and oceanology, and the award for outstanding achievements from the American Institute of Fisheries Biological Research. He has a Demel medal for outstanding scientific research. He was awarded the royal gold and diamond jubilee medals "Prix D'Excellence". He holds an honorary doctor of science degree from the University of Vancouver. Author of more than 350 articles.
